To speak about biocultural conservation is to speak about the relationships between so many landscapes, so many species, so many stories, so many priorities… and so many challenges.
Where do we start?
It starts with awareness, education and connecting people with each other, and with marine and coastal ecosystems.
Of course it’s about preserving our natural and cultural heritage, but there are many different approaches to address today’s socio-environmental problems.
For us, it is essential that you know how we are pushing the boundaries of conservation in this amazing region… and why you should be part of it.
At the Kino Bay Center, we implement a unique model that integrates a diversity of approaches, people, institutions, and ways of knowing – all moving toward the same goal in a web of complexities and connections… It’s about exploration. From studying marine mammals and birds in marine areas, to co-designing sustainable community practices, and implementing high level experiential education in authentic cross-cultural environments.
During our 2023 – 2024 fundraising campaign we will share how we are, more than ever, LEADING; Not only in protecting our biocultural riches, but in designing, and building from the community and for the community, a culture of sustainability.
