Supporting independent research in the Gulf of California
Supporting Researchers to Develop and Implement Projects
The Center supports work done by researchers from around the world who are working to better understand the rich, diverse and unique flora, fauna and physical and cultural environment of the Midriff Island Region of the Gulf of California. The Center can play an important role in supporting researchers to develop and implement projects within local cultural, political and physical realities. We also provide support services to researchers including housing, internet, boat support, shuttles, technical support, local knowledge and more. All researchers working in collaboration with the Center are required to conduct their projects with the necessary permits, and to make provisions to communicate the results of their work to interested community members. Please contact us to make arrangements, and check out our visitor information.
The Kino Bay Center welcomes visitors from around the world. It is ideally located to explore the rich cultures and ecology of the region. It is a fully-equipped living-learning center on the shores of the Gulf of California.
The Center works with local and indigenous community groups, government agencies, academic institutions, NGOs, researchers and other stakeholders to identify and address conservation priorities based on regional socio-environmental realities.
