This January, decades worth of findings from studies stretching as far back as the 1960’s were published detailing the ecological health of the Gulf of California. The Center’s director, Lorayne Meltzer, was one of 32 researchers involved in this extensive study which was coordinated thanks to N-Gen, a network of Next Generation Sonoran Researchers.
The study consists of 41 long-term projects and aims to answer questions about the effects of over-fishing, change in sea surface temperatures, and dynamics of individual species.
